Ingredients

  • 2 –3 medium apples Fuji, Honeycrisp, or Gala, sliced
  • ½ cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup granola cluster-style preferred
  • ½ cup dark chocolate melted
  • 1 –2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup optional
  • 2 tablespoons chopped nuts optional
  • 2 tablespoons shredded coconut optional
  • Pinch of sea salt optional
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice for preventing browning, optional

Equipment

  • Cutting board
  • Small bowl (for melting chocolate)
  • Spoon or spatula
  • Microwave or double boiler
  • Serving plate or tray
  • Parchment paper (optional, for easy cleanup)

Method

  1. Wash and dry the apples thoroughly. Slice into even rounds and remove seeds. Lightly brush with lemon juice if desired.
  2. Melt the chocolate using a microwave in short intervals or over a double boiler until smooth and glossy.
  3. Spread a layer of peanut butter evenly over each apple slice.
  4. Sprinkle granola over the peanut butter, pressing gently to help it stick.
  5. Drizzle melted chocolate over the top using a spoon or piping method.
  6. Add optional toppings like nuts, coconut, or a pinch of sea salt while the chocolate is still warm.
  7. Allow the apple bites to sit for a few minutes until the chocolate sets slightly, then serve immediately.

Notes

Best enjoyed fresh for optimal crunch and texture.
Use natural peanut butter for a cleaner ingredient profile.
Adjust toppings based on dietary needs (vegan, low-sugar, nut-free).
For cleaner presentation, use a piping bag for chocolate drizzle.
Avoid overloading toppings to keep bites easy to handle and visually appealing.
